Fuel, brake, AC and cooling systems in vehicles and plants
Production and installation processes can cause greasy, oily and particulate contamination to arise on the inner surfaces of lines and circuits. This contamination can affect the entire system chemically or mechanically.
So-called evaporator analyses are carried out to determine this soluble and insoluble residue.
Components to be tested are rinsed with a solvent, usually an acetone mixture, and inserted.
The insoluble and soluble residue accumulates in the eluted substance.
The insoluble particles in the substance are filtered and then undergo gravimetric or microscopic analysis.
The solution is evaporated in the rotary evaporator, and the residues (drawing oils, greases and other processing aids) are identified gravimetrically.
The total contamination mass is seen as an attribute of the components (based on the relevant component surface) and specified in the drawing.
